About

Who am I?

I am a theatre director working up and down the country. I originally trained as an actor and am now a visiting director in CDS drama schools. Previous theatres I’ve worked at include The Watermill, Bush, Arcola, Watford Palace, Young Vic and National Theatre among others.

Why create this site?

When starting at drama school, it was always a personal mission of mine to decipher why I was accepted into the course and not the others who sat beside me at the dozens of drama school auditions I attended. Was it simply about the quality of my performance? Was a personality thing? Was there a formula at all or was it just luck? These questions have always stuck with me and now at the other side of my studies, I feel so much more aware of the requirements needed not only to get into a drama school, but also the requirements of this industry – which is tougher and more relentless than anyone can describe.

No one can acquire the training I received through a website, but no-one should be excluded from getting as much help as they can to qualify for that training through a successful audition. This is why Audition At Drama School exists – to give you focused, factual assistance at getting into drama school, in order to continue your craft through training.

Who is this website for?

You! Whether you are looking to get into drama school, at drama school, have been to drama school or even if you just care about performance art, you will find something on this website of value. Hopefully, there will also be a lot that you can contribute!
